Daniel 'Dan' C. Gates of Castroville, passed away on February 6, 2023 at the age of 77. He was born March 28, 1945 in Castroville, Texas to the late Carl William Gates and Julia Mary Billings Gates.

Survivors include his daughters, Rachel Gates-Morales (Daniel) of Castroville and Michelle Moore of Medina Lake; his grandchildren, Autum Jackson and Serena Jackson; his brother Fred C. Gates (Pam) of Sebastian, Florida; and his friend Barbara Thompson.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Julia Gates, and his wife, Linda Gates.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 16, 2023 beginning at 9:00 a.m. with a Prayer Service at 10:00 a.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery Garden Mausoleum in Castroville, Texas.
