Daniel Fred Menk of Hondo, Texas, went to be with the Lord on June 21, 2006, at the age of 84. He was born July 4, 1921, in San Antonio, the son of Fred & Frieda (Lange) Menk. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Avonne "Bonnie" (Etter) Menk; Brother Frede Charles Menk. Daniel is survived by his son Sam J. Menk and wife Penny of Hondo; daughter Dancy Tschirhart and husband Lloyd of Castroville; grandchildren Michael G. Menk and wife Nicky, David J. Menk and wife Kathy, Ted William Tschirhart and wife Renae, Jody Allen Tschirhart, Clint Mathew Tschirhart; great grandchild McKenna Tschirhart. The Rosary was Saturday, June 24, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The Funeral Service, was Saturday, June 24, at 11:30 a.m. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The Pallbearers were Ted Tschirhart, Clint Tschirhart, Michael Menk, David Menk, Jody Tschirhart, Gary Etter. Burial followed at the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
