Daniel Padron of Hondo, age 39, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007. He was born Dec. 18, 1967, in Hondo. He was a carpenter, a musician, and had played with the Barrio Bandits softball team. He was preceded in death by his uncle, Juan Padron. Daniel is survived by his mother, Ramona Padron; daughters, Vanessa Padron and Danielle Padron; son, Joseph Padron; five grandchildren, all of Hondo; sister, Mary Jane Sanchez and husband Ricky of Hondo; aunts and uncles, Sylvia Padron, Calletano Padron Jr., and Juan Nira, all of Hondo, Cesario Padron of Pasadena, Cristina Sanchez of Brownsville, and Paula Rios of Houston. Rosary was led by Epifania Ybarra at 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 16, and Funeral Mass was celebrated by Fr. Ken Dakin at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17. Both services were at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Pallbearers were Andrew Rodriguez, Juan Nira, Calletano Nira, Alberto Navarro, Alex Constante, Ricky Sanchez, and one name omitted by request 9 Aug. 2017. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
