Dennis Herman "Beelo" Zerr of Hondo, age 90, passed away Friday, Mar. 8, 2019. Born Oct. 26, 1928, in Hondo, he was the son of Robert J. and Gertrude Margaret Koch Zerr. Dennis was an amazing man. Quiet and humble. A real servant. Hard working. Devoted husband. Devout Catholic. Loving father. Veteran. Great friend. Master electrician. Carpenter. Outdoorsman. Mostly known as a fisherman. A really good one. Loved his dogs and they loved him. As did we all. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert, Anthony, John and Maurice; and sisters, Dorothy Mullen and Beatrice Waneck. He is survived by his wife, Arla Jean Williams Zerr; daughters, Denise (Steve) Oefinger of Quihi and Donna (Jim) Natho of Runge; sons, Fr. Dennis Patrick Zerr of Falfurrias and Michael (Michelle) Zerr of Arlington; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and sister, Barbara Ann Foley of McAllen. Rosary was recited Sunday, Mar. 10, at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m., Monday, Mar. 11, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Private interment will be at a later date.
