Obituary

Dennis Lee Mollgaard, Sr, at 79, passed away April 22, 2021. He was born in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin, on January 4, 1942. When he was seven, his mother, sister and brother moved to
San Antonio to start a new beginning after his father's untimely death. Even at the young age of
13, Dennis had an entrepreneurial spirit and had a variety of jobs in the neighborhood that
included delivering newspapers and bagging groceries.

After graduating from Edison High School, he worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company
where he met his future wife, Joyce Schmidt of Hondo, Texas. They were married for 54 years
and raised two children in San Antonio.

Dennis had a zest for life and an ever-present kindness toward others. He made friends
everywhere he went. His unlimited energy would take his family on many camping trips that
created a lifetime of amazing memories for his family and friends.

Another of Dennis' favorite past times was fishing with his buddies. These trips would often
result in more tall tales than actual fish.

In 1978, Dennis and Joyce started an air conditioning business out of their home on Tioga Dr.
With his strong work ethic and a talent for designing HVAC systems for homes without central
air conditioning, they created a company that would thrive and provide a rewarding career.
Tiger Services Air Conditioning continues to operate today under the direction of their son,
Dennis Jr. Dennis would treasure the friendships he made in the industry from near and far. He
enjoyed attending industry conventions.

Once he retired, he began spending more time with his beloved grandchildren. As an adoring
grandpa, he found much joy in watching the kids grow, compete and develop into responsible and
family-loving individuals. The grandchildren could always count on grandpa for free advice.

Traveling in the RV with Joyce would offer many years of splendid adventures. Dennis liked to
tinker and their RVs were always decked out with all that Camping World had to offer.
Unfortunately that time was cut too short after the passing of Joyce from cancer.

Dennis was blessed to find another adventurer and fellow traveler in Yolanda Silva, who became
a devoted and loving friend. They enjoyed a few years of traveling and playing cards with other
friends. When Dennis was diagnosed with cancer, Yolanda's companionship was a true gift.

Even though his final days in the hospital were challenging, Dennis wouldn't want us to dwell on
that. He would want us to remember the joyous journey he had and for us to remember to
cherish our family and friends. We should go forward and love unconditionally, just as Dennis
did.

Dennis Lee Mollgaard, Sr. was preceded in death by his parents; Genevive Starr Wixom
Mollgaard and Adolf Mollgaard, his brother Dale Mollgaard, his wife Joyce Schmidt Mollgaard.
Survivors include his sister Janice Kurtz, his children Connie (Ralph) Flores and Dennis
(Holly) Mollgaard, Jr., his grandchildren Christine Flores, Rebecca Flores, Robert Flores,
