Diana Gail (Graff) Brawner, age 66, of Hondo, passed away Sunday, Apr. 7, 2013. Born Dec. 7, 1946, in Hondo, she was the daughter of Frank William and Angelina "Sis" (Groff) Graff, who preceded her in death. A Medina Valley High School graduate, Diane worked two years with the Medina County Tax Office. She retired in 2012 as office manager after 33 years with the Medina County Appraisal District. She was a former Medina County Fair president. With the support of her husband and sons, Di was the 'queen mother' of the Medina County Fair Queen contest and court for some 30 years. Each year, under her no-nonsense guidance, she and her family became a second family to the young ladies who reigned as the queen's court, earning their respect, admiration and love. Surviving are her husband, Pat Brawner; sons, P. J. Brawner and Jason Brawner; grandson, Ty William Brawner, all of Hondo; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Vernon and Kim Kraemer of Hondo and Esther and Jim Smith of Natalia; nieces and nephews, Brandon (Julia) Kraemer, Chesney (Matthew) Brown, Tyler Kraemer, all of Hondo, Tommy (Michelle) Wanat and their children, Chris and Kelsie of Midlothian; and mother of her grandson, Kimber Brawner of Hondo. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Apr. 9, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Apr. 10, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section. Bearers are Ty Brawner, Brandon Kraemer, Tyler Kraemer, Matthew Brown, Chris Groff and Mike Groff. Honorary bearers are Larry Mechler, Potsie Groff, Snubbie Groff and Ray Coleman.
