Obituary

Doris Mae Sharp Koch of Conroe, formerly of Hondo, passed away Tuesday, Apr. 14, 2020.

Born in Yorktown, Dec. 24, 1930, she was the daughter of Jack and Ida Mae Wofford Sharp who later lived at New Fountain.

Doris always wanted to be a nurse, but that is one profession she never achieved. She was a secretary, preschool teacher, and she directed her own preschool.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert John "R.J." Koch; brother, J. D. Sharp; and son-in-law, Larry Holderfield.

Survivors include her sons, Mike Koch (Nera) of San Antonio and Kyle Koch of Needville; daughters, Jackie "Suzie" Holderfield of Needville and Donna Reioux (Ed) of Conroe; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service was held at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Celebration of her life will be at a later date, after coronavirus social distancing restrictions are lifted.

The family suggests memorials may be made to Arms of Hope/Medina Children's Home, 21300 TX Hwy. 16, Medina, TX 78055.
