Dorothy Ellen Mason, age 68, of Hondo passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012. Born Sept. 13, 1943, in Stillwater, OK, she was the daughter of George Frank and Emma Yvonne (Pullin) Meiners. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Vance Meiners. Dorothy was a floral designer and, over the years, worked for several local florists and nurseries as well as other businesses. She retired in 2011 after working for Flowers and More. She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Glenn Mason; sons, Robert Jopling and wife Kellie of Devine, Burl Clayton Jopling of D'Hanis, and Donald Ray Jopling and wife Sandy of Devine; daughter, Kimber Le Anne Brawner of Hondo; four grandchildren, Kayla Jopling, Kate Jopling Loyd and husband Stephen, Tyler Jopling, Ty William Brawner, and Madison Mello; brothers, George F. Meiners Jr. and wife Vida of Rusk and Virtes Meiners and wife Mary of San Antonio; sisters, Theresa D. Jones and husband James of West Columbia and Coretta Mills and husband Jody of Gillette, WY; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. with a memorial service at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 22, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Private interment will be later at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
