Edna Vela, devoted sister and aunt, passed away at her home on Saturday, Aug. 16 - five days shy of her 75th birthday. Edna was born Aug. 21, 1929, in Allende, Mexico. She was the fourth and youngest child of Perfecto and Josefina Delgado Vela. The family later moved to Hondo where Edna attended Hondo schools. She is survived by her sister, Dora Rendon of Hondo, and brother, Hector Vela, and his wife, Ida, of La Mirada, Calif. Also, Rosalinda Lopez of Hondo, Robert Rendon and wife, Pam, of Natalia, and Ruth Rendon Duke and husband, Kevin, of League City. Four nephews in California include Hector Vela Jr., Mark Vela, David Vela and Rene Vela. She also is survived by numerous great-nieces and nephews.
