Edward Fohn, age 92, of Yancey passed away Tuesday, Mar. 10, 2009, at home with his family at his side. He was born Jan. 11, 1917, in Hondo, the son of Jacob and Bertha (Neumann) Fohn. He was retired from Universal Rundle and was a lifelong farmer/rancher. Ed was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Milton J., Clarence, Elmer, Horace J., James, Jack H., and Victor T. Fohn; son-in-law, Phillip Wolfe; daughter-in-law, Sylvia Fohn; and sisters-in-law, Esther and Jessie Fohn. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rosalia (Tovar) Fohn of Yancey; son, Eleno Fohn of Yancey, daughter, Roberta Wolfe of Pearsall; son, Edward Fohn Jr. and wife Viola of Yancey; daughter, Josie Flores and husband Maurice of Rio Medina; 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; sisters-in-law, Bertha Fohn, Ruby Fohn, Terry Fohn, and Jane Fohn, Funeral Mass was Friday, Mar. 13, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
