Edward E. Hoadley, age 82, of San Marcos died suddenly on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, in Hondo. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, on Sept. 21, 1932, the son of Elsworth and Virginia Hoadley. He grew up in Columbus where he owned and operated a stone company. He married Irene Braden on Feb. 21, 1970. In 1974 he and Irene moved to College Station where they lived for 20 years. In 1996 they moved to San Marcos where they now reside. Ed had a multi-faceted personality. He was a collector of many things from model airplanes to trivets. He enjoyed playing bridge, golfing and telling tales. His sweet disposition and ready smile will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Norma (Milton) Evans. He is survived by his wife, Irene; siblings, Barbara Hoadley of Clovis CA, Dorothy (Allen) Salee of Round Rock, Ginger Hummel of Denver CO, Robert (Carol) Hoadley of Columbus TX and Mary Ellen (Earl) Jantzi of Grottes VA; and nieces and nephews.
