Eliberto Daniel Torres, age 56, of Hondo passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011. Born July 21, 1954, in Hondo, he was a son of Estanislado and Eulogia (Morin) Torres. He was a cook and he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Pedro, and Armando; and sister, Rosalinda. Survivors are his children, Anya DelaRosa and husband Gilbert of San Antonio, Armando Torres of Austin, Christopher Torres of Brownwood, Ruby Torres and Daniel Torres of Irving, Carrie Torres of San Angelo and Yvette Torres of Cherokee; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Everett Torres of Hondo, John Henry Torres and wife Juanita of Devine, Jesse Torres of Waukegan IL, Ricardo Torres of Hondo, Ray Torres of Seattle WA, Alvaro Torres and wife Dolores of Weslaco; sisters, Rebecca DeLeon of Austin, Gloria Grove and husband Stan of Grand Pass OR, Mary Ruth Dziengel of Illinois and Maria Dolores Correa of San Antonio; nephews and niece, Darrell Lee Torres of Devine, Steven Torres Hernandez, Daniel E. Torres Hernandez and Brenda Ann Torres Odell of Las Vegas NV. Visitation will be held Friday, May 6, 6 to 8 p.m., at the Guinn-Horger Chapel, with the Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
