Elisandro D. "Sande/Eli" Ortiz of Hondo, 56, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017. Born in Hondo Sept. 19, 1960, he was the son of Jose and Dolores Delgado Ortiz. He was an aircraft mechanic. He is preceded in death by his brother, Rolando Ortiz. Survivors include his parents; daughters, Vanessa (Mitchell) Olivo and Jaclyn Gonzales; son, Jon Michael (Jessica Lara) Ortiz; grandchildren, Mark, Mario and Mia Olivo, Jaelyn, Juliet, Jada and Jeremiah Gonzales; brothers, Javier (Odelia) Ortiz and Cristobal Ortiz; sister, Graciela (Ivan) Molina; and the mother of his children, Rose M. Ortiz. Rosary will be recited at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 27, followed by the Funeral Mass, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment will be at Longview Cemetery at Bigfoot.
