Elmer Adolph August Nietenhoefer, age 90, passed away on June 14, 2005 in Hondo. He was born on July 4, 1914, in Vandenburg, the son of Christian E. & Minna Bertha (Leinweber) Nietenhoefer. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Corine Wiemers. Elmer is survived by wife Edna (Loessberg) Nietenhoefer; son Kenneth C. Nietenhoefer and wife Carol of Boerne; daughter Betty Jean Baker and husband John of Liberty Hill; son Dennis Nietenhoefer and wife Sandi of Southlake; brother-in-law Elbert Wiemers. The visitation was from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home and the Funeral Service, officiated by Pastor Stephen Schur, was at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 16, at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel. The casket carriers were Chris Nietenhoefer, Curt W. Shelmiry, Steven Basil, Jon Hoebelheinrich, Dan Dailey, Cody Dailey, John T. Baker. Burial followed at the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
