Elmira Jean "Jeanie" Beavers of Hondo/Quihi, age 82, passed away Monday, Dec. 23, 2024.

Born Aug. 25, 1942, in Hondo, she was the daughter of Elmer and Esther Neuman Sprott.

Jeanie attended school and graduated in D'Hanis. After graduation, she went to work for Southwestern Bell and retired after more than 25 years. She retired again after serving about 15 years coordinating routing and client services for the Medina County Nutrition Program. Joanie loved to travel and go on cruises.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 54 years, Jimmy Dale Beavers, Sr.

Survivors are her son, Jimmy D. Beavers Jr., and daughter-in-law, Joanie Beavers of Hondo; grandchildren, Chris van der Weide, Mark (Jen) Priest, Anthony (Megan) Dybowski and Amanda Dybowski; and great-grandchildren, Faron Priest and Henry, Nate, Luke and Lucy Dybowski.

A Celebration of Life/Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

The family suggests memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
