Eloisa Ramirez Muñiz of D'Hanis, age 88, passed away Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021.

Born in D'Hanis, April 19, 1933, she was the daughter of Antero and Juanita Frias Ramirez.

She became a skilled homemaker, making tamales, butter and cheese, sewing her children's clothes, quilting, and cooking for the holidays when family would gather at her home. She loved her family and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her great joy.

She had a 'green thumb' and loved nurturing her plants and roses. Later in life, she enjoyed playing bingo and watching game shows.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carlos Aguilar Muñiz; siblings, Julian Ramirez, Guadalupe Contreras, Francisco Ramirez, and infant sister, Carolina.

Survivors include her daughters, Lucy Moncada (Guadalupe) and Margie Ibarra (Bobby), all of D'Hanis; son, Fred Muñiz (Yvonnilda) of Austin; grandchildren, Veronica O'Donnell (Dean), Henry Moncada, Randy Ortiz, Teresa Muñiz and Brianna Muñiz; six great-grandchildren, Kauy and Kelsi O'Donnell, Andrea and Ryan Ortiz, Max and Victor Moncada; brother, Ramiro Ramirez (Roslyn); and sister, Angelita Jimenez, all of San Antonio.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1:00 to 1:30 p.m., at Holy Cross Catholic Church in D'Hanis, followed by Rosary at 1:30 and Funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at San Francisco Cemetery, D'Hanis.
