Eloisa Guedea Sanchez of Hondo, 95, passed away Monday, Feb, 13, 2017. Born in Hondo, Dec. 1, 1921, she was the daughter of Alejandro A. and Enriqueta Gamez Guedea. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jacobo Sanchez Jr.; son, Juan Sanchez; daughter, Enedina Rodriguez; and siblings, Carlos, Domingo, Silverio, Fernando "Pat" and Francisco Guedea, Angelita Rios, Isidra "Lucky" Thaxton, Maria Brigida Aguilar and Tomasa Aguilar. Survivors include her daughters, Carmen (Frank) Sandoval and Eva (Chuck) Warden, all of Hondo; sons, Ernesto (Mary Rose Trinidad) Sanchez of San Antonio and Reynaldo (Elizabeth) Sanchez and Roberto Sanchez of Hondo; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 16, 6 to 8 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel, with Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, Feb. 17, 10 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hondo, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.
