Obituary

Elva Adele Farr Huser of D'Hanis, 88, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017. Born in Utopia, Aug. 18, 1928, she was the daughter of William Perry and Floria Adele Brown Farr. She attended school in a one-room schoolhouse in Vanderpool in her youth and always loved to go back to the hills where she grew up. Elva was a homemaker and also worked some 20 years in the D'Hanis school cafeteria. An avid reader, she also loved being with her family and enjoyed cooking for them on special occasions. Spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter gave her great pleasure. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence L. Huser; brothers, Joe Farr, Billy Farr and Harry Farr; and sisters, Ann McQuinn, Rene Smallwood and Frances Heidaker. Survivors include her sons, Lawrence Wayne Huser and Alan Huser, both of D'Hanis daughters, Elaine Huser of Austin, Kay (Roddy) McCauley of D'Hanis and Claudia (Doug) Samford of Hondo; grandchildren, Marsha Lea (Jonathan) Schoellman of D'Hanis, Lawrence Frederick (Madison) Huser of Dripping Springs, John Roger (Catherine) McCauley of Cedar Park, and Leah Jane (Jeremy) Smith of North Beach MD; great-granddaughter, Evelyn Huser of Dripping Springs; sister, Louine Johnson of Sabinal; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 17, 10 a.m., at Holy Cross Cemetery, D'Hanis. The family suggests memorials may be made to Holy Cross Cemetery Fund or other charity of your choice.
