Elva Lois (Mumme) Krenmueller, age 95, of Hondo passed away Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011. She was born Feb. 15, 1915, in Hondo, the daughter of Alvin and Isabel Louise (Brucks) Mumme. She was a bookkeeper, having worked for the Hondo Anvil Herald and the Bandera Bulletin. She was a member of AARP, Hermann Sons Victory Lodge and First Methodist Church. Elva was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Krenmueller in 1988; sisters, Grace Caudle, Joycelyn Newman, and Asell Clayton; son-in-law, Frank Nehr; and grandson-in-law, Lynn Martin. Survivors are her daughter, Rebecca Nehr of D¿½Hanis; brother, John Mumme and wife Grace of Bellville; grandchildren and spouses, Wanda Martin of D¿½Hanis, Patricia and Bruce Martin of Hondo, Theresa and Ron Squires of Odem, Helen and Kevin Staton of Rio Medina, Frank David Nehr Jr. and Joseph E. and Sandra Nehr, all of Dunlay; 15 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 7, 6 to 8 p.m., at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 8, 2 p.m., at First United Methodist Church, Hondo. Casket bearers are Wanda Martin, Theresa Squires, Helen Staton, Frank David Nehr Jr., Joseph E. Nehr and Keith Martin. Interment will be at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church.
