Emilio Garcia, age 89, of D'Hanis passed away Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014. Born May 22, 1925, in D'Hanis, he was the son of Aniceto and Martina Muñiz Garcia. He was a laborer at D'Hanis Brick and Tile for 46 years. Emilio is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carolina Ortiz Garcia; brother, Leandro Muñiz; and sisters, Leonarda Guerra, Paula Treviño, Manuela Rodriguez and Pasquela Garcia. He is survived by his daughters, Alma Garcia, and Adriana Garcia, both of D'Hanis, Graciela Garcia of Hondo and Yolanda (Tony Jr.) Leivas of Austin; sons, Victor (Angelita) Garcia of Eagle Pass and Hector Garcia of Colorado; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Luisa Alvarez and Blanca Garcia, both of D'Hanis. Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 22, 6 to 8 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home. Rosary, followed by funeral Mass, will be Tuesday, Dec. 23, at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Interment will be at San Francisco Cemetery, D'Hanis. Pallbearers were Daniel Leivas, Paul Garcia, Randy Garcia, Joel Garcia, Tony Leivas, and Hector Garcia Jr. Honorary bearers were Lisa Marie Garcia, Belinda Garcia and LaTanya Marie DeLeon Correa.
