Emilio Gonzales, Sr., of Hondo, 87, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020. He was 87.

Born May 28, 1933, in Biry, he was the son of Louis and Augustina Gonzales Gonzales.

After more than 30 years, Emilio retired as a castor at Universal Rundle. He enjoyed playing golf and was known as "Crooked Stick" to his golfing buddies. He also loved to play guitar and sing and was a devoted Bingo player.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Francisco Antonio Gonzales; sister, Magdalina Garcia; sister-in-law, Alicia Gonzales; and brothers-in-law, Carlos Garcia, Homer Chin and Robert Cochran.

He is survived by his sons, Pablo G. (Patricia A.) Gonzales and Emelio (Maria Margarita) Gonzales Jr., all of Hondo; daughter, Rose M. (Silbiano) Cuellar of San Antonio; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Eloisa Chin, Mary Esther Cochran, Gloria (Richard) Martinez and Sophie (Douglas) Cochran.

Memorial service will be held at a later date. Private interment will be at Hondo Cemetery.
