Erik George Mortensen, age 80, of Temperance MI passed away Thursday, June 4, 2015, in Hondo. Born Dec. 18, 1934, in Omaha NE, he was the son of Carl and Else Marie Holman Mortensen. A carpenter and retired teacher, he enjoyed camping, travel and driving his 1956 Chevrolet. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Carl Ludwig Mortensen; sister, Betty A. Allensworth; and an infant brother, Alexander Mortensen. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Mae Monroe Mortensen; daughter, Teresa M. (George) Brandon of Hondo; son, Kyle W. Mortensen of Temperance MI; and two grandchildren. Memorial service and interment will be at a later date in Michigan.
