Ernesto Perez Gonzales, age 73, of Castroville passed away Monday, Apr. 1, 2013. Born March 5, 1940, in Devine, he was the son of Natividad and Petra (Perez) Gonzales. He was a retired commercial bus driver. Ernesto was preceded in death by his father; daughter, Debra Jean Gonzales; and sister, Lucia Turruviate. Survivors include his wife, Esther (Silva) Gonzales; mother, Petra Gonzales of Hondo; son, Ernesto Gonzales Jr. of San Antonio; son, Juan Gilbert Gonzales and wife Michelle of Wylie; daughter, Sandy Marie Gonzales of San Antonio; son, Fernando Gonzales of San Antonio; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Carolina Reyna and husband Reynaldo of Ft. Worth. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., with Rosary recited at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Apr. 3, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Apr. 4, at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section. Bearers were Michael Mestas Jr., Joseph Mestas, Nick Gonzales, Rogelio Garcia, Michael Mestas Jr. and Ernesto Gonzales III.
