Esteban Arcos Bernal, Jr. of Hondo, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 5, 2007, at the age of 66. He was born in Hondo, Texas, February 2, 1940, the son of Esteban & Ursula (Arcos) Bernal. Esteban retired after more than fourty years with Jack Winkler Motors. Esteban aslo served in the Army National Guard of Texas for eleven years. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Eliezer Anthony Bernal; infant sister, Ester; brother-in-laws, Antonio Alvarez, Jr., and Ernesto DeLeon. Esteban is survived by his wife, Anita (Trevino) Bernal of Hondo; sons, Esteban Bernal, III and wife Dora of Lubbock, Reynaldo Bernal and wife Leticia of Hondo; five grandchildren and one great grandchild; brother, Jerry Bernal and wife Olga of Hondo; sisters, Sulema DeLeon of San Antonio, Odilia Perez and husband Ventura of Saginaw, MI, Orfelina Villa and husband Ramon of Hondo, Ampara Alvarez of Hondo. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Sunday January 7, and the Funeral Mass will be Monday, January 8, 10:00 a.m. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The pallbearers were George Villa, Sr., Ramon Bernal, Bernardo Bernal, John E. Villa, Bentura Perez, Jr., Carlos DeLeon. Burial will follow at the Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.
