Estefana R. Sanchez, age 67, of Hondo passed away Monday, Oct. 12, 2015. Born in Hondo, Jan. 18, 1948, she was the daughter of Luis G. and Julia Reyes Sanchez. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lupe Sanchez; brother, Juan Luis Sanchez; and an infant brother, Fidencio. She is survived by her brother, Simon R. (Gloria) Sanchez of Hondo; sister-in-law, Amelia Barrios Sanchez of Hondo; nephews and nieces, Rene (Zelda) Sanchez of Yancey, Jaime Sanchez of Moore, Luis (Lilia) Sanchez of Leon Springs, Mercedes (Robert Butler) Sanchez of Austin, Dahlia (Sam) Hurst of Leon Springs, Leticia (Matt) McClarin, Terrie (Sal) Alvarado and Simon Sanchez Jr., all of Hondo; and great-nieces and -nephews. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., with the Rosary recited at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 15, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.
