Esther May Heyen, age 81, went quietly into the arms of Jesus on May 5, 2005 in San Antonio. She was born on a farm on Talley Road in Bexar County, on September 25, 1923, the daughter of Erwin Joseph & Alvina Wihelmina (Bormann) Steubing. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Chester Floyd Heyen; brothers E. J. Steubing, Jr., Calvin Claude Steubing, Glenn Ellis Steubing; brother-in-law Stewart Bryden; sister-in-law Era Steubing Esther is survived by her daughter Deborah Ann Barnett and husband Joseph of San Antonio; grand daughters Elizabeth Ashley Barnett of Dallas, Adrienne Laurel Barnett of New York City, NY; sister Violet Bryden of Canyon Lake; sister-in-laws Joanna Steubing and Eunice Trainer both of San Antonio. The Burial was at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 9, at the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section, the casketcarriers were Terry G. Steubing, Shawn E. Steubinng, Brian D. Bryden, Larry A. Steubing, Jon Bader, Mark Nester. A Memorial Service was held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 9 at Alamo Heights United Methodist Church, 825 East Basse Road, San Antonio.
