Ethel Mae (Geyer) Dorries, 87, of Hondo passed away peacefully in her beloved home, Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012. Born Nov. 1, 1925, in Nordheim, she was the daughter of Oscar Jay and Alma Alvina (Remmers) Geyer. She was a loving and tender-hearted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed. She was a devoted homemaker who loved gardening, rock collecting, nature and traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Doliver Glenn "Tex" Dorries; son, Glenn Harvey Dorries; granddaughters, Brandi Michelle Green and Sarah Dorries; grandson, Chris Anthony McDaniel; and son-in-law, James Glenn Reeves. She is survived by daughters, Junell Ann McDaniel and Ed Turner of Kerrville, Vickie Lynn Reeves of Plainfield MA, and Sandra Lee Mangold and husband Ronnie of Rio Medina; son, Sheldon Wayne Dorries and wife Cindy of Granbury; grandchildren, Sean Mason Green and wife Donna of Medway MA, Barrett Wade Mangold and wife Jinny of Atascosa, Bryce Everret Mangold and wife Nora of San Antonio, Ashley Nicole Dorries and Elisabeth Ann Dorries, both of Granbury; great-grandchildren, Tessa Marie Mangold, Lanna Wade Mangold and Mason James Green; and brother, Jay Lee Geyer and wife Erika of San Antonio; and numerous nieces and nephews. Honoring her wishes, there will be a private memorial service for immediate family. Memorials may be given in her memory to American Cancer Society or any local hospice care.
