Eugenia Moncada Pedroza, a native of Yancey, 84, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026, in San Antonio.

Born Nov. 15, 1941, in Yancey, she was the daughter of Gregorio and Anastacia Contreras Moncada. She and Preciliano Pedroza were married in August of 1962.

Despite having a limited education, she went on to get her GED and, subsequently, a degree at St. Philips College, which led to a career in the medical field. After years of working in many different doctors' offices, she retired and dedicated her life to her family. She loved to travel, visiting the Vatican, Germany, Washington, DC, Hawaii, New York, and numerous other states.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Antonio and Isabel Moncada; and sister, Maria Guerra.

Survivors include her son, Lawrence Pedroza (Lisa); daughters, Mickey Ramos (Arturo) and Raquel Galindo (Jeff); grandchildren, Kenisha Pedroza, Kendrah Ramos, Arturo Ramos, Antonio Ramos and Alex Galindo; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Ramos, Josiah Ramos, Kaysen Yglesias; sisters, Martha Sanchez, Lucy Neuman and Reyes Lopez; and brothers, Lupe Moncada, Johnny Moncada and Manuel Moncada.

Visitation will be Monday, April 6, 6 to 8 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel, pausing for recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, April 7, 10 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hondo, followed by interment at Yancey Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Antonio Ramos, Artie Ramos, Alex Galindo, Ernest Yglesias, Jeffrey Pedroza, Chris Lopez, Adrian Sanchez and Gilbert Moncada.
