Eva M. (Earnest) Huesser, age 86, of D'Hanis, passed away May 21, 2006. Eva was born on Dec. 19, 1919 to William J and Emma Earnest in Hondo. She graduation from Hondo High School in 1938 and attended Draughon's Business College. She moved to Austin in 1940 and married Howard Huesser on Jan. 16, 1941. They resided in Hondo where Eva worked with the Civil Service at the Sub-Depot Engineering at Hondo Navigation. She was later transferred by the Civil Service to the Army Base Postal Service. She lived temporarily in Austin with her parents while her husband was serving in the Army Air Corps, stationed in Okinawa. She worked for Walter Tips Co until 1947 and was employed by Richters' ButterKrust and went on to be office manager. She retired from ButterKrust in 1968. Eva and Howarded adopted their son John in 1962. After retiring Eva attedned Texas School of Fine Arts and recieved her diploma under the directio nof professor Charles Berkeley Norman in 1972. She later became half owner of the school by purchasing shares and assisted Mr. Norman in teaching. After the school closed she taught lessons at home. After Howard retired they moved to D'Hanis where Eva taught art classes for one year. Eva was an active member of the Hondo Art League and served as its president for one year. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her son John H. Huesser and her sister Mayme Johnson. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 25, 2006 At St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hondo with interment in Hondo Cemetery, St. John's Section. The pallbearers were Donovan Kokel, Denver W. Kokel, Tim Huesser, Bill Moffett, Joe M. Moore, Walter E. Johnson.
