Eve Dolores Santos, age 64, of Hondo passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014. Born in Hondo July 28, 1949, she was the daughter of Thomas R. and Manuela (Gonzales) Santos, who preceded her in death. She attended Hondo schools and graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic High School in California. She received her Bachelors Degree in English and did graduate studies in Anthropology at the University of Texas in San Antonio. She was a painter and award-winning author of two novels and a collection of short stories. Survivors include her daughter, Noelia Santos of Brooklyn NY; brothers, Thomas Santos of Port Isabel TX, and Paul Santos of Hondo; and sisters, Linda Grant of Hondo, Elisabeth Griesheimer of Austin, Christine Santos of British Columbia, Canada, and Beatrice Santos of Houston. Graveside service was held Friday, Mar. 7, 2 p.m., at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section. The family suggests memorials may be made to the Nature Conservancy, P.O.
