Fay Dell Schweers Wiemers of Hondo, age 90, passed away Tuesday, July 27.

Born in Hondo, Nov. 8, 1930, she was the middle daughter of Henry William and Minnie Pauline Oefinger Schweers.

Fay Dell was a great hostess and cook and loved to open her home to family and friends. She was very thoughtful, considerate and kind. She always remembered every birthday, anniversary and special occasion and would send the sweetest, most thoughtful cards. Her grandchildren remember her well for the special lunches she would make for them and their friends to enjoy during their days in high school.

Fay Dell and Olen Wiemers were married June 25, 1949, They celebrated their 62 wedding anniversary shortly before his death in 2011. For many years, Fay Dell was bookkeeper for the family business, Wiemers Oil.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Olen W. Wiemers; sisters, Mary Ann Byers and Luren Gavlick; and brothers-in-law, Gene Byers and Emil Gavlick.

Survivors include her sons, Clifton Wiemers of Arkansas, Gordon (Debbie) Wiemers of Hondo; daughter, Donna (Roger) Jay of Georgetown; grandchildren, Rachel (Tom) Patton, John Wiemers, Ryan (Jennifer) Wiemers, Sheila (Brandon) Williamson, Ruth Anne (Jon) Bodwell, Bethany (Emmanuel) Jimenez and Sarah (Brad) Walker; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday,, July 31, 9:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m.,  at New Fountain United Methodist Church. Interment then be at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Memorials may be made to New Fountain United Methodist Church Building Fund or the charity of your choice.
