Florence Elizabeth "Flossie" Geuea Leinweber, age 98, of San Antonio, formerly of Hondo, passed away Wednesday, Apr. 30, 2014. Born at her family's home in the Hondo area on Nov. 29, 1915, she was the daughter of Charles and Ellie Carrie (Elms) Geuea. She was a beautician and owner of Flossie's Beauty Shop. She was hairdresser for many Hondo ladies over the years. Florence was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ervin Leinweber; brothers, Chester Geuea and George Geuea; sisters, Nora Anderson and Alice Mumme Hartman; grandson, Richard Carroll Jr.; and son-in-law, John William Simmang. Survivors include her daughters, Maxine Joyce Simmang and Joy Belcher and husband Ken; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 13great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Jonell Leinweber and Helen DeLong; and brother, Vernon "Buster" Geuea. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at First United Methodist Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Woodmen of the World Section. Pallbearers were John Simmang, Bob Simmang, Mike Simmang, Kevin Simmang, Arnold Rabel and Ken Belcher. The family suggests memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Hondo or the Alzheimer's Association.
