Forney Harris Stephens, age 85 years, 8 months, and 24 days, of Sabinal, Texas, passed away in Uvalde, Texas, on Thursday, March 10, 2005. He was born in Haleyville, AL, on June 13, 1919, the son of Millard & Blanch Stephens. Forney was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers and sisters. Forney is survived by his wife Peggy L. (Waldrip) Stephens; son Thomas E. Stephens and wife Janice of Austin. The Funeral Service was at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 12, at the First Baptist Church in Sabinal. The casketcarriers were Ray H. Henry, George D. Driskill, James L. Henry, John F. Milam, Edwin A. Kurek, Danny McFadin. The burial followed at the Sabinal Cemetery.
