Frances Jean Gibb Herman of Hondo, formerly a long-time resident of Victoria, passed away Monday, Sept. 18, 2023, at the age of 97.

Born in Three Rivers, Dec. 11, 1925, she was the daughter of Jerry Collins Gibb and Arminda L. Franklin Gibb.

Frances was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Victoria and was close friends with the members of her Sunday School class. She enjoyed traveling and managed to visit all 50 of the states. She was able to remain in her own home until the age of 96 due to the love and kindness of her neighbors, whom she considered family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis Emil Herman; sister, Annie Laurie Henry; and brother, Walter Franklin Gibb.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Carolyn Haynie (Dwayne); grandsons, Kenneth Haynie (Amy) and Michael Haynie (Rebecca); 11 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved.

Graveside funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24, at Fowlerton Cemetery, Fowlerton TX 78021.
