Frances Burlene (Moses) Sanford of Hondo, formerly of San Benito, age 78, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007 at the Medina Community Hospital in Hondo. Frances was born Oct. 21, 1929, in Snyder, the daughter of Oscar Cisco and Ivey Pearl (Jones) Moses. Frances lived in Ira until her high school years. She then moved to Brownsville, to live with her sister Arnell and husband Raymond Sanford. Through them, she met Raymond's brother, Winford and they soon married. She was a stay-at-home Mon, raising the family in San Benito. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Following her husban's death, she moved to D'Hanis where she has resided for the past eleven years. The last year and half she has been a resident of Community Care Center in Hondo. Frances was a member of the D'Hanis Extension Education Association. Frances is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Winford Edwin Sanford, Sr.; brothers, Herman, JB, Arlis, and Lyndon; and sisters, Arnell Sanford, Verna Moses; brothers, Herman, Arlis, J.B., and Lyndon Moses. She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Huesser and husband Larry of D'Hanis and Beverly Hutson and husband Robert of Duncanville; son, Winford E. Sanford Jr. and wife Kathy of Harlingen; sister, Joyce Piercci of Stockton, CA. She was "Granny Franny"to grandchildren Nikki Morgan, Denny Huesser, Deena Huesser Wolff, Chris Sanford, Trey Sanford, Tyler Sanford, Heather Hutson, Crystal Hutson, and Chris Warren; loving great-grandchildren, Kane Adams, Hayley and Hayden Huesser, Brady and Reece Wolff, and Ethan Warren. She had numerous nieces and nephews who were dear to her heart especially Ray Sanford, Jr., Kenny Sanford, Janet Knight, and Mary McCune. Visitation was Wednesday and the funeral service will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at Guinn-Horger Chapel with Rev. David Mayer of St. Paul Lutheran Church officiating. Entombment will be at 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at Mont Meta Memorial Park Mausoleum in San Benito with Chaplin Joe Perez of Valley Baptist Hospital officiating. The casket carriers are Larry and Denny Huesser, Trey and Tyler Sanford, Brad Wolff, and Robert Hutson.
