The family moved to Amarillo in 1967 where she volunteered with Meals On Wheels and worked in the cafeteria for a time at Bonham Jr. High. Frances and Russell returned to their ranch near Hondo to retire in 1985. They were members of New Fountain United Methodist Church.

Frances practiced the art of writing letters and always remembered birthdays, anniversaries and other important family events. She enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, and traveling in the U.S. and abroad. She was so proud of the accomplishments of her husband, children, daughter-in-law and grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all.
