Francisco H. "Pancho" Hernandez of D'Hanis, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Wedesday, October 11, 2006, at the age of 72. He died of complications following open heart surgery. He was born in Haciende, Mexico, August 17, 1934, the son of Francisco Gauna Hernandez and Maria Hernandez Varela. He is preceded in death by his parents. Pancho is survived by his wife Angelita (Mejia) Hernandez of D'Hanis; daughter Victoria Hernandez of Hondo; son Ernest Tapia and wife Lucinda of D'Hanis; daughter Irma Hernandez Limon and husband Armando of San Antonio; sons Francisco Hernandez, III of San Antonio; Juan Jose Hernandez of Sabinal; daughters Rosa Segura of Kerrville; Maria Esther Hernandez and husband Joe of Sabinal; son Pedro Hernandez of San Antonio; daughter Rosa Estella Hernandez of San Antonio; stepchildren Rose Campos of CA, Angie Sauceda and husband Victor of D'Hanis, Ruben Campos and wife Pam of Missouri, Manuela Soto of Dallas, Mary Lira and husband Concepcion of D'Hanis, Debbie Rios and husband Joe of Florida, Joann Tapia of D'Hanis, Stella Alejandro and husband Aniceto of Sabinal, Joe Tapia of D'Hanis, Robert Tapia of D'Hanis; 16 grandchildren, 26 step-grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 10 step-great-grandchildren; brothers Emilio Hernandez, Jose H. Hernandez of Mexico; sister Juanita H. Rodriguez of Mexico; brother Margarito Hernandez of Mexico; sisters Armandina H. Uribe, Herlinda H. Tristan of Mexico; brother Isidoro Hernandez of Mexico. The Rosary will be at 09:45 a.m and the Funeral Mass will be Saturday, October 14, 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Cross Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the San Francisco Cemetery in D'Hanis.
