Frank D. Leyva of Hondo, passed away Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020. He was 85.

Born March 10, 1935, in Hondo, he was the son of Bentura and Juanita Dominguez Leyva.

Frank was a hard-working man all his life and one who never gave up. He loved music, was "the life of the party" and loved to talk to everyone he met. He was a man who enjoyed life.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Alfredo "Freddie" Leyva; brother, Miguel "Mike" Leyva; sister, Virginia Carranza; and brothers-in-law, Condrado Nira, Candelario Garcia and Julio Campos.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Contreras; sons, Antonio "Tony" (Marybeth) Leyva of Castroville, Bentura "Ben" (Debbie) Leyva of Hondo, Frank Jr. (Susie) Leyva, Pete (Louisa) Leyva, and Joe (Angie) Leyva, all of San Antonio; daughters, Norma Leyva-Juarez (Villado Juarez) of Austin, Olivia (Ramiro) Lara, Irene (Carlos) Rodriguez, and Janie Balderas of San Antonio; daughter-in-law, Angie Leyva of San Antonio; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Salvador Leyva and Jesse (Sofia) Leyva, all of Hondo; sisters, Cecilia Nira, Lucia Garcia and Herminia "Minia" Campos, all of Taylor; and sister-in-law, Rosa Leyva of Hondo.

Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 8, 5 to 7 p.m. at Guinn-Horger Chapel, with Rosary recited at 6 p.m.

Graveside service will be at 9:00 a.m., Monday, Nov. 9, at Hondo Cemetery Guadalpe Section.
