George Sidney Taylor, Sr. of Hondo, Texas, went to be with the Lord on March 24, 2006, at the age of 62, in San Antonio. He was born January 12, 1944, in Louisville, KY, the son of Seth Edward & Minnie Kathrine Taylor. George was a member of the New Fountain United Methodist Church. He will best be remembered for his friendly smile and genuine interest in others. His life touched many who will remember him as a friendly and caring man, and a loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. George was a gifted stained glass artist and blessed many with his works of art. He is preceded in death by his mother and step-father Minnie and Kyle Whited. George is survived by his wife Martha Ann (Garnett) Taylor of Hondo; daughter Sandra Lytikainen and husband Mike of Baraga, MI; son George S. Taylor, Jr. and wife Patti of Hondo; daughter Tia Lisa Taylor of Hondo; son Timothy James Taylor and wife Kimberly of Hondo; granddaughters Angela Taylor and Kim Jones of Hondo and Kari Jones of College Station; grandsons Christian, Benjamin, and Mikey Lytikainen of Baraga, Michigan and Kyle Jones of Kingsville. He is also survived by his father and step-mother, Seth and Jean Taylor of Jeffersonville, Indiana; sisters Novella Myer of Atlanta, Georgia and Geraldine Sullivan of Cherokee, Alabama; brother Leo Taylor of Nashville, Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service, officiated by Pastor Charles Parker was at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 27, at the New Fountain United Methodist Church. Pallbearers were Don Berger, Aaron Geyer, Jim Gilbert, David Haertner, Rey Quintanilla, and Ted Snyder. Honorary Pallbearers were Christian Lytikainen, Benjamin Lytikainen, Mikey Lytikainen, Kyle Jones, and Steven Avila. Interment followed at the New Fountain Cemetery. The family suggests that donations may be made to the Medina Community Hospital Healthcare Fund or the New Fountain United Methodist Church Building Fund.
