Gerald Raymond Mann, age 67, of Converse passed away Monday, Dec. 19, 2011. Born Dec. 8, 1944, in Castroville, he was the son of the late Wesley Raymond and Gladys Anne (Halty) Mann. He graduated from Hondo High School, served in the U.S. Army Reserves, earned a BS degree in math from Texas A&I Kingsville, and was an aircraft engineer. He was a member of American Legion and Hermann Sons Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Christine (Berchelmann) Mann of Converse; daughters, Lisa Marie Herschman and husband Kenneth of San Diego CA, Yvette Ann Eddleton of Austin and Stephanie Johnson of San Antonio; six grandchildren; and siblings, Janice Kyrish and husband Gene of SanAntonio, Dennis C. Mann and wife Diane of Hondo, Karen Nieschwietz and husband Prosper "Corky" of Portland, and David Mann of Hondo. Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., Friday, Dec. 23, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Entombment will be at Hondo Cemetery, St. John's Mausoleum. The family suggests memorials may be made to Vitas Hospice.
