Gladys Schweers Crawford, age 91, of Hondo passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014. She was born May 14, 1923, in Hondo. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clyde Leon Crawford; her parents, Charles William and Lydia Annie (Wiemers) Schweers; and her sister Lillian Ethel Shuler, all formerly of Hondo. Gladys is survived by her brother, Charles William Schweers Jr. of Floresville; daughter, Glenda Kay Crawford of Spring; son, Charles Travis Crawford of Hondo; grandsons, Greg Sparkman and wife Lori of Dallas, Scott Crawford and wife Rebekah of San Antonio and Christopher Charles Crawford of San Antonio; granddaughters, Wendy Rector and husband Joe of Tomball and Amy Dean and husband Chris of Spring; great-grandchildren, Crystal, Steven, Jeremy, Adin, Shelby, Forrest, Bryce and Benjamin; great-great-grandson, Logan; and special adopted son, Donald Eugene Nichols and wife Lois of Bandera. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m., prior to a Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m., on Monday, June 30, at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Interment will follow at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section. The family suggests memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
