Obituary

Glenn Roy Bohlen of Quihi/Hondo passed away Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2020.  He was 68.

Born Aug. 26, 1952, in Hondo, he was the son of Clarence Erwin and Della Lena Hartman Bohlen.

Glenn was baptized, confirmed, and a member of Quihi Bethlehem Lutheran Church. While in high school he was a member of the FFA and a manager/trainer for the Hondo football team. After graduating from Hondo High School, he worked as a mechanic for Strait Farm Equipment. Glenn then worked for Medina Valley Seed and Fertilizer in Castroville, where he drove a fertilizer truck. For the majority of his life, he was a farmer and rancher in the Hondo area. Later in life, he retired from farming, but continued to raise cattle in the Quihi area. Glen's true passions were hunting, fishing, and barbecing. He was a lifelong HondoOwl football fan and a Houston Astros basevall fan.

Glenn will always be remembered as a great story teller with a smile on his face.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister-in-law, Vivian Bohlen.

He is survived by his sons, Brian D. (Lindsey) Bohlen of Hondo and Blake A. Bohlen of La Coste; grandchildren, Macey A. Bohlen, Ainsley E. Bohlen and Brice D. Bohlen; and brother, Cordell C. Bohlen, all of Hondo.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14, at Guinn-Horger Chapel.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 15, at Guinn-Horger Chapel, followed by interment at Quihi Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials may be made to Quihi Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
