Gregorio Rodriguez of Hondo passed away Thursday, June 12, 2025.  He was 96.

Born March 12, 1929, in Hondo, he was the son of Juan Jose and Josefa Carrasco Rodriguez. Gregorio resided in Hondo all of his life.

He was a masonry craftsman by trade. He took pride in building beautiful masterpieces such as homes, fireplaces, pathways and many other structures with stone, rock or brick.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Victor; and his 11 siblings, Augustine Rodriguez, Carlos Rodriguez, Miguel Rodriguez, Longina Morin, Jose Rodriguez, Marcos Rodriguez, Cruz Trinidad, Armando Rodriguez, Margarita Mesa, Lupe Rodriguez, and Virginia DeLeon.

Gregorio is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Lollie Ybarra Rodriguez; sons, Rey Rodriguez and Luis Rodriguez; daughters, Sherry Leyva, Christavale Rodriguez (Ruben), Delilah Torres (Alonzo) and Shelly Rodriguez; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 17, followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.
