Gregorio C. Villa of Hondo passed away Monday, Dec. 19, 2022. He was 92.

Born Nov. 17, 1930, in Hondo, he was the son of Jose and Concepcion Castillo  Villa.

In his youth, Gregorio was a Golden Gloves boxer and also enjoyed wrestling. He retired from Universal Rundle after 42 years and also worked part-time for Falstaff Distributor Mac McGuffin and picked up metal for recycling as a hobby. He loved to sing harmony.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 68 years, Hortencia Dominguez Villa; and brothers, Augustine, Ramon and Indercio Villa.

He is survived by his children, Cynthia Ann Barrios, Albert Gregory "Gegi" Villa, Lisa Brieden (Luie DeLeon, Jr.) and Lucine "Pikini" Lemus (Robert Vasquez), all of Hondo; 15 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Eloisa Piña.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, Dec. 26, at Life Changing Worship Center, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
