Guadalupe "Lupe" (Sanchez) Correa, age 74, of Hondo passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008. She was born Dec. 15, 1933, the daughter of Pedro and Juanita (Ybarra) Sanchez. She was a homemaker. Lupe was preceded in death by her parents; son, Arturo Correa; daughter, Concha Correa; and siblings, Elena Martinez, Andrea Salazar, Lucia De La Cruz, Amada, Ernesto, Marcelina, and Valentin Correa. She is survived by her husband, Faustino Correa; daughters, Santa flores and husband Ernesto, Maria Concha Correa and Rudy Flores, and Kathy Correa and Cayetano Nira; son, Joel Correa and wife Oralia, all of Hondo; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; sisters, Louisa Ramirez of Houston, Alifonsa Resendez and Eva Sanchez, both of Hondo. and Martha Rios of San Antonio. Rosary was recited Sunday, Mar. 2, and Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, Mar. 3, 11 a.m., both at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Fr. Ken Dakin officiated the Mass. Pallbearers were James Flores, George Flores, Jonathan Flores, Arthur Contreras, Edward Flores, Michael Tapia Jr., Jake Ybarra, and Ernest Flores. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.
