Guillermo Tovar Jr., age 72, of San Antonio passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2013. Born Dec. 8, 1941, in D'Hanis, he was the son of Guillermo Sr. and Hortencial (Ontiveros) Tovar. A graduate of D'Hanis High School, he married his high school sweetheart and they had nine children. He was a loving husband and a wonderful father. He was a self-employed welder. Guillermo is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Mary Ann Tovar King; and brother, Carlos Tovar. He is survived by his wife, Maria Pargas Tovar; son, Robert Tovar and wife Donna; daughters, Sally Tovar, Linda Eli, Sandra Esquivel and husband Joe, Ana Marie Matsuzaki and husband Leon, Lisa Navia and husband Diego, Cathy Tovar, all of San Antonio, and Laura Cardenas and husband Mike of Arlington; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Margie Aguilar and Mary Tovar, both of D'Hanis; brothers, George Tovar of Hondo and Reymundo Tovar. Rosary at 9:45 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m., will be held Friday, Jan. 3, at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Interment was at San Francisco Cemetery, D'Hanis. Pallbearers were Michael Eli, Xavier Tovar, Taylor Tovar, Luis Aguilar Jr., Vincent Tijerina and Daniel Coln.
