Harold Clemens Weeber, age 92, of Hondo passed away Thursday, June 2, 2011. Born July 31, 1918, in Seguin, he was the son of Christine (Stickel) and the Rev. Carl F. Weeber, who was pastor in Quihi from 1932 to 1952. Harold graduated from Hondo High School, served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant and was an aerospace engineering technician with the U.S. Civil Service until he retired. Throughout his life, Harold's strong family focus was enriched by his boundless energy, style and sense of adventure. Private pilot, outdoorsman, RV'er, vintage Cadillac owner and gentleman, images of Harold parasailing and riding rollercoasters with his grandsons while in his 70's, water skiing in his 80's, and proudly posing with his latest whitetail buck at age 92 will never fade. Those who knew Harold knew him as kindhearted and a gentleman, always sharing a smile. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul, Hugo and Herbert Weeber; sister, Esther Weeber; and his twin sister, Hertha Weeber. He is survived by his wife of more than 60 years, Mary Lou (Saathoff) Weeber of Hondo; son, Terry Weeber and wife Vicki; grandsons, Matthew Weeber and wife Stephanie and Kellen Weeber, all of Littleton, CO. Funeral service was at 10 a.m., Monday, June 6, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Quihi, followed by interment at the Quihi Cemetery. Casket bearers were Andrew Aelvoet, Howard Saathoff, Leonard Saathoff, Richard Saathoff, Kellen Weeber and Matthew Weeber. The family suggests memorials may be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Building Fund.
