Harry James Schweers went to be with the Lord on October 30, 2007. He was born on August 15, 1915 at the Schweers family home in Stackelpeterberg area of Medina County, Texas to Jacob and Louisa Graff Schweers. Harry began early working with his parents and nine brothers and sisters on the family farm and ranch. His parents thought that education was important for all their children and made time for Harry also to attended Sturm Hill school in between work. He was raised in the New Fountain Church and was a member until his death. He was always on hand to help when a job needed to be done. He could even supervise, if needed. Harry loved his family and always loved bragging on his grandchildren. He was a good provider and protector. He loved joking and teasing with his children, grandchildren and his many nieces and nephews. Harry loved his ranching and his Herefords. Though it was hard work, he was never happier than when he was at "The Ranch". He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Katheryn "Kinky" Day Schweers, his parents Jacob and Louisa Schweers, his brothers Charles, Andrew, Clarence and Frank, his sisters Dora Muennink, Alice Cagle, Viola Rountree, Martha Santleben and Nelda Beard. Harry is survived by his son Larry Schweers of Quihi, his daughter and son-in-law Melissa and Bob Jouett of Hondo, his granddaughter Anne Methvin and husband Casey of Buda, TX , his grandson Dr. Ryan Jouett and wife Amanda of College Station, TX. He is also survived by 3 great-granddaughters, Ashton MethVin, Zoey MethVin and Elizabeth Lee Jouett as well as many nieces and nephews.
