Hedwig Caroline (Leinweber) Windrow Kollman, age 97, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2007, in Hondo. She was born to Johann Fritz and Emelia (Ellebracht) Leinweber on November 23, 1909, the third of 6 children. She married Nuel Windrow on November 11, 1931. To this union 1 son was born. She married L. E. Kollman, Jr. on March 29, 1949. Hedwig was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Alvin, Milton, Wesley, & Fritz Leinweber; sister, Edna Leinweber; husband L.E. Kollman, Jr.; step-grandson, Gary VanDyke. She is survived by son, Dr. John Windrow and wife Vivian; grandsons Dr. Zachary Windrow and wife Malissa, Dr. Matthew Windrow and wife Shannon; 5 great grandchildren, Zach, Emily, James, Sarah, & Kate Windrow, all of Hondo; step-daughter Eloise Peter, & her daughters Denise Sypesteyn & Robin Rodgers; niece, & her family Dorathy (Leinweber) & Leon Westfall, Sharon, Steve, Cody, & Trent Buck, Doug, Robin, Ethan, & Elliott Westfall of Giddings. Special caregivers, Aurora (Dora) Duran, Gertrude (Tootsie) Palacios, Griselda Trevino, Margie Garcia. She spent many years as a telephone operator & later as a full-time housewife. She was a people person & touched many lives, leaving behind fond memories with many people. The Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, June 19, at 11:00 A.M. at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home in Hondo. The casketcarriers were Bryce Britsch, Cody Buck, J. Gruber, Doug Westfall, Matthew, and Zachary Windrow. The burial will follow at the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
