Helen (Hunnicutt) Covey, age 92, passed away Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007, in Hondo. She was born to Myrtle (Yates) and Samuel Hart Hunnicutt Aug. 16, 1915, in Ninnekah, OK. Helen was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Wayne and Zayne. She is survived by her sister, Merlene Key of Dallas; nephews, Matt McClarin and wife Letty of Hondo and Don Hunnicutt of North Texas. Helen was a legal secretary by profession and worked for attorneys in various cities where her husband worked. While in Huntsville, AL, she was employed by an attorney, George Allen, who ran for office as an Alabama Senator with the understanding that she would go to Washington, D.C., if he won. Helen was in charge of his office in Washington until his death near the end of his second term in office. Private interment is planned with her family in Llano.
